Mr Shotliff has 25 years' experience in both operational and development roles in waste management. He now provides technical and commercial advice to waste management contractors and developers in the UK.

During his career he has led the strategic development of STE (Clean Recycling and Energy) Plc and Thames Waste Management Ltd from start-ups to substantial businesses, and closed major local authority contracts. At STE he supported several fund-raising rounds that realised £45m.

As Executive Director at Thames Waste Management he raised £35m in an MBO bid.

He has a BSc in Mining & Geology from Imperial College London.
